Christmas Party
NEW LOCATION:
The Christmas Committee is excited to present the 2024 event at a new location - the DC Centre located at 11830 Stonegate Dr, Omaha, NE 68164.
This year's event will be on Saturday December 14th 2024.
This location provides double the seating capacity for ticket holders attending the event. There is also more parking both in front and behind the building.
DATE / TIME:
Saturday December 14th 2024
Full event with dinner ticket holder? Doors open at 5pm
Speaker Only ticket holder? Please arrive after dinner at 7pm.
Why the timing difference
It's a cheaper ticket for a shorter event/time frame and without the meal.
This helps with keeping the price lower/more accurate for dinner ticket holders. The venue charges for people on-site (who may potentially go through the dinner line). The venue staff performs periodic "head counts" of people in the room during the dinner time as well as tracking how much food is consumed/put out in the buffet. This could impact our final food bill at the end of the night. If we tell them we sold and expect 300 for dinner, but 500 show up during that time frame it would be questionable and our final bill would be impacted. Hurting the fundraiser and negatively impacting the Central Office's profit.
DINNER / DRINKS:
The DC Centre has an on-site caterer who offers a similar Italian buffet with 90 minutes of serving yourself (with purchase of the full dinner event ticket).
You can look forward to: salad, rolls, mixed vegetables, and a main dish such as beef spaghetti with red pasta sauce.
If you are vegetarian - you can go through the line and select your meatless items. No special arrangements need to be made ahead of time.
Those who have asked for GLUTEN FREE - we have heard you and this facility happens to cater to your dietary needs.
But arrangements need to be made ahead of time, coordinating the correct expected headcount with the caterer prior to the event.
We cannot accommodate your gluten free meal if you do not purchase your dinner ticket AND communicate with the committee chair Kim A. before 11/23/24.
With the arrangements made: we can ensure enough special G.F. food will be ready for you, a "gluten free" flag will be provided to you at arrival to the event. The flag will be used as communication with the catering staff.
Free beverages are also available to all ticket holders (speaker and dinner) throughout the event. These include various Coke products, coffee, water, and lemonade.
ONE ROOM / NO STAIRS:
We have 2 adjoining ballrooms open for our Christmas Party and Central Office Fundraiser event. All activities will occur in this one larger combined space.
No need to find stairs or an elevator this year. In fact, the table you eat at will transition into the same sitting space for listening to our guest speaker.
ACTIVITIES:
There is room enough in this larger space for the traditional Crafters and Raffle you have come to expect each year at this event.
We are planning our usual entertainment/skit prior to the speaker, as well as a DJ/dance following the guest speaker.
New this year - an HOURLY 50/50 cash raffle.
Come ready to have good time kicking off your Holiday Season with your friends in fellowship!
We have items to purchase from the various crafters for holiday gift-giving.
There will be raffle prizes waiting to win from your tickets.
As well as cash prizes from an hourly 50/50 raffle.

Our ticket selling goal is 400 Dinner tickets to keep on budget this year in the new venue.
We are at 10% as of October 23, 2024. Help spread the word at your meetings.
We have sold 120 tickets, meaning we are about one third toward accomplishing our sales goal!
