Committees enable the intergroup to function more effectively. The committee system divides the many and varied responsibilities for service to the fellowship among these engaged entities.
Any member of Alcoholics Anonymous in the Omaha metropolitan area may participate in a Standing Committee, regardless of whether being a voting member at Intergroup.
Omaha Metro Intergroup currently has the following standing committees:
- Alcathon
- Archives
- Bridging the Gap
- Central Office
- Christmas Party
- Cooperation with the Professional Community and Professional Information (CPC/PI)
- Grapevine
- Hotline
- Technology
Ad Hoc Committees
The Intergroup Chairperson may establish non-voting interim committees to facilitate Intergroup business. Or a Standing Committee may form an ad hoc committee to fulfill a committee task that will require more time than is available during normal committee meetings.
