About Committee

The Alcathon is a long-standing sober event that has been running for over 45 years, offering a fun and supportive way to celebrate the holidays and bring in the New Year. The event will include fellowship, hourly meetings, engaging games, inspiring speakers, delicious food, and even a dance on New Year’s Eve. Many groups host meetings during the Alcathon. There are numerous ways to get involved.

While the event is free to attend, we do collect 7th Tradition contributions to help cover operating costs and keep this event running year after year. All proceeds should be made out to the Omaha Central Office.

This is a joint AA and Al-Anon Family Groups event, with speakers from both communities. Everyone is welcome! If you’re looking for a safe and supportive environment to stay sober and celebrate the New Year, we’d love to see you there.

Any member of Alcoholics Anonymous in the Omaha metropolitan area may participate in a Standing Committee, regardless of whether being a voting member at Intergroup.
